Marvel Masterpieces Artist Proofs available
For those of you who have been asking, I do have a few Artist Proofs available from both MMII and MMIII. The cost is $45 each, which includes shipping within the US. That's for pen and ink with grey tones, no color. First come, first serve, get 'em while they're hot, all that jazz...leave me a message here if interested, or e-mail me at planbstudiobw at yahoo.com.

Hit and Miss
Marvel Masterpieces III
Mole Man and a dog with a 'stache?

Okay, what's the deal with the giant dog with the tuning fork sticking out of his head? I know he's somehow affiliated with Black Bolt and the Inhumans crew...what the heck was Kirby thinking? Or was this one of Lee's zingers? What were these cats smoking? I mean, I have a soft spot for Mole Man, he's pretty lame...but I just don't get it with the mutt.
Now with more Thor!
Approved

Just got approval from Upper Deck on these sketches for The Masterpieces III set. I got to draw a lot of characters from The Mighty Thor, which during my childhood (during Walt Simonson's run on the book) was possibly my favorite comic.
Sometimes meeting someone you admire is a let down when they turn out to be a jackass. I had a chance to meet Walt when I was first doing comic and illustration work. What a gentleman (and an amazing artist and writer).
Sketch Cards
More Marvel Sketch Cards

Here are some more samples of cards I did for Upper Deck's Marvel Masterpieces. Fellow Savannah, Ga area comic artists Gary McKee (Warhammer 40k, Legends of the 5 Rings) and Mike Torrance (Thunderbolts, G.I. Joe) were also among the contributors to the set. You can check them out at http://www.tsunami-studios.com/. Big up to Mike for putting me in touch with Mark Irwin at Upper Deck (a talented artist himself).
Marvel Masterpieces II

I recently did 100 cards for Upper Deck's Marvel Masterpieces II trading card set. Every box of 36 packs contains a randomly inserted original sketch card. Despite the tight deadline (I came on board the set late in the process, and did all hundred in about 7 days), this set was a blast to work on. Here is a sample of the cards I did for the set.
